Morocco Visit 18-28
April 2004
On
April 2004 the general chief of WAFA Relief made a visit to
Morocco for the sake of getting a real and clear picture of how
WAFA Relief can help there by establishing different kind of
projects. This is a brief report on the occasions of the visit
and its main outcomes.
Targets of the trip:
- Distribution of the
help to the people suffered from the Earth Quake in Al-Husiema
(Emezwrn)
- The official
registration of WAFA Relief in Morocco and opening a bank
account
- To get acquainted
with the charity activities in Morocco and how WAFA relief can
help.
Acctivities:
- Visit to the Al-Hsiema
city and its suburbs.
- The visit to the
governor of Al-Hsiema city, the regional council president,
the head of the economical and social departments and the
regional representative of the Citizenship Education and Youth
Ministry.
- Visit to the Al-Hsiema
hospital, department of the psychological diseases and
Kidney cleaning.
- Visit to the
Ministry of Citizenship Education and Youth.
- Visit to the Al-Rahma
Charity International and its projects in (Al- Qunatera, Suk

- Visit to the
school for rehabilitation of mentally retarded children and
orphan house in Sala city.
- Visit to the
Arabic Foreign Bank to see the possibility to open an account
for WAFA.
Achievements:
- We got a clear
feeling of the degree at which the people in Morocco are
suffering. That is achieved by the direct talk and visit to
the people in general places.
- We know the areas
where WAFA can help, and that is in the long term projects and
not in immediate needs.
- We had the
opportunity to introduce WAFA to top ranks of the Morocco
Government.
Prospective Projects:
As a result of
our visit we propose that WAFA should work on the following
projects:
- Building a school
or at least one class in Al-Hsiema.
- Refurbishing the
psychological diseases department in Al-Hsiema hospital.
- Building
dormitories for students from villages and country-sides.
- Building housing
complexes for the people living in huts.
- Supporting the
needy families and orphans.
- Digging water
wells.
